Located on a flag lot, a steep sloping grade provided the opportunity to bring the main level of the house into the tree canopy to evoke the feeling of being in a tree house. A lover of music, the client wanted a house that not only became [...]

Designer: J. Mayer H.
Location: Ludwigsburg, Germany
The geometry of the Dupli.Casa is based on the footprint of the house that previously was located on the site, originally built in 1984 and with many extensions and modifications since then. The new building echoes the „family archeology“ by duplication and rotation. Lifted up, it creates a semi-public space [...]

Combining two of our favourite pursuits in one luxury package, the Spa Boat – designed by Norway-based, Finnish architect Sami Rintala – brings an added dimension to the standard spa weekend.
Taking a stripped-down 1950s fishing boat as the skeleton of his project, Rintala adapted the bare woods and curving walls as integral design elements of [...]

In an increasingly dense city like Chicago, views from a new tower must be negotiated between existing buildings. Aqua tower considers criteria such as views, solar shading and function to derive a vertical system of contours that gives the structure its sculptural form. Its vertical topography is defined by its [...]

Les différentes techniques ainsi que les types de verre employés dans les vitraux et les objets de décoration nous sont présentés et expliqués. Les couleurs et la lumière sont [...]

This Mortal Coil was a dream pop supergroup led by Ivo Watts-Russell, founder of the British record label 4AD. Although Watts-Russell and John Fryer were technically the only two official members, the band’s recorded output featured a large rotating cast of supporting artists, many who were signed to, or otherwise associated with, 4AD. About half [...]

The Transparent City
This is Wolf’s first body of work to address an American city. Whereas prior series have juxtaposed humanizing details within the surrounding geometry of the urban landscape, in The Transparent City, his details are fragments of life—digitally distorted and hyper-enlarged—snatched surreptitiously via telephoto lenses: Edward Hopper meets Blade Runner. The material [...]

The Grizzly Bear’s music video are always a good surprise with that indie vein that we love. Enjoy!

Lyrics for “Ready, Able”
I’m gonna take a stab at this
Surely we’ll be alright
Make a decision with a kiss
Maybe I have frostbite
And when I shuffled on back home
I made sure all my tracks in the snow were gone
Tissue and [...]

“L’Univers Elegant” est un ouvrage de vulgarisation scientifique très facile d’accès. C’est une réussite vu le sujet traité. Les analogies sont imagées et très bien trouvées. Brian Greene est un excellent pédagogue, au même titre que Stephen Hawking avec “Une Brève Histoire du Temps”.
Le livre traite de la théorie des cordes et de la théorie-M: [...]

That psychedelic video clip hypnotize us with this song: “Two Weeks” by Grizzly Bear!

Lyrics for “Two Weeks”
Save up all the days
A routine malaise
Just like yesterday
I told you I would stay
Would you always
Maybe sometimes
Make it easy
Take your time
Think of all the ways
Momentary phase
Just like yesterday
I told you I would stay
Every time you try
Quarter half the mile
Just [...]

Measha Brueggergosman, canadian soprano, performs “L’Heure Exquise” by Reynaldo Hahn in ARTE Lounge. Paul Verlaine’s lyrics inspired that beautiful song.

L’Heure Exquise
La lune blanche
Luit dans les bois ;
De chaque branche
Part une voix
Sous la ramée …
Ô bien-aimée.
L’étang reflète,
Profond miroir,
La silhouette
Du saule noir
Où le vent pleure …
Rêvons, c’est l’heure.
Un vaste et tendre
Apaisement
Semble descendre
Du firmament
Que l’astre irise …
C’est l’heure [...]
